Bianca is a long-day onion variety intended for planting in the summer season.
Bianca is characterized by high productivity, producing round, firm bulbs with an attractive, shiny white color. All bulbs are uniform in shape and size, with a complete absence of twin bulbs.
One of Bianca’s main features is its attractive shiny white appearance and the tight adherence of the skin to the bulb, which ensures a long storage period of up to six months under suitable conditions.
Bianca onions are planted either by direct seeding in the field or using specialized planting equipment at a rate of 650–750 grams per donum.
The planting period extends from January until mid-March.
The crop is harvested after the complete drying of the foliage. The bulbs are lifted and left in the field to dry completely, then packed and stored.
Curing is one of the key factors for achieving long-term storage.
