Carmen is a short-day onion variety intended for planting in the winter season.
Carmen is characterized by high productivity and clear earliness, maturing 15 to 20 days earlier than TEG. The bulbs are firm and bronze-colored, with all bulbs uniform in shape and size and a complete absence of twin bulbs.
One of Carmen’s most important features is its attractive bronze color and its remarkable earliness.
Carmen onions are planted either by direct seeding in the field or using specialized planting equipment at a rate of 700–850 grams per donum.
The planting period extends from September until mid-November.
The crop is harvested after the complete drying of the foliage, starting from the beginning of May.
